So do you think the longer 30mm x 5mm brackets are the way to go, rather than 25mm x 4mm ? The front brackets have never been a problem in many miles with the G56 system in place, maybe just the rear supports?

As i already had 25x4mm bar i shaped some more brackets and welded them together so now 25x8mm which is probably OTT. I would say 30x5 would be fine and not too difficult to bend with some heat. To be honest on a test drive there was noticeably less wobbling with the first attempt and probably would have been enough.

We are going for this approach on the rear supports to save more replacement rivets - now need to go digging in the scrap steel box - thanks again for sharing!!

Thanks for all the tips here. I’ve just ordered my Garage 56 pipes based on all your comments, and some stainless bars to reinforce them. Already got the Stealth air intake, must have been one of the last ones! Excited to see how much better it drives.
Obie - is your front mount angled onto the existing bolt?

Yes the front mount is angled, rear is straight. Have now got 2 bolts in each bracket though, not very far apart on the front due to the angle.

Surprisingly fast delivery from the UK. Now I need to find someone to powder coat the shields in black - is anyone aware of any potential pitfalls in having this done? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/10/16/gar56.jpg)

I did a run up Kop Hill today in the beautiful post-storm afternoon weather. A few negatives about the G56 pipes: 1. Following a Beemer M4 I ran out of gears. Never had that problem before! 2. Coming out of a 30 zone I floored it and had to back way off due to the rear wheel spin. Kop Hill was a bit boring frankly - very straight and didnt seem too steep to me. The surrounding lanes were much more "interesting"!

That sounds about right for the only negatives with the G56 pipes. Only thing I would add, and it is related to your #2 is..... watch out in wet weather. The traction you had running a stock exhaust on wet pavement is also no longer there.....
