Hi, What Rover ECU is fitted as standard to this car? I have having trouble with a Emissions test; my CO2 reading is to high, one option could be a faulty ECU.
The one in the car is a replacement, the original went on the blip...
Its model number is MKC10115 YN. So Rover 820 2.0 16v 92-93 MEMS MP ECU
Is that what everyone else has?
Thanks Will

Hi Will, My 1993 Plus 4 T16 has MKC10034YN and is original as far as I know. It starts well from cold, although is very inconsistent during the warm up cycle. Fine when hot. The car has done 10000 miles Regards Simon

I have a 2000 car and a T16 rover engine, dont know the number on the ecu but I do have a spare and if you buy an obd cable you can use an app to fine tune the ecu...

It is a rover 820 unit. They fail regularly in my experience. Get one where the immobiliser is by passed also check the pipe from the manifold to the ECU for leaks.

They tend to fail due to getting too hot. When mounting a small amount of heat compound should be used - but a very small amount. Too much and it will act like an insulator.

I had a 1997 +4 and the MEMS unit was MKC104081 At one time I had a fault that I was trying to trace and got another one off eBay with the same reference, had to get BHM to program it to recognise the immobliser. That didn't fix the issue but it meant I had a spare.
