Love my Specialized Vado e-bike which I’ve had for three years now. Copes with the sometimes very steep hills around here with no problem. Like Kev, I tend to ride it around 17- 18 mph so the motor is cut out and just rely on it for hills. I have also had my partners Brompton converted by ARCC. I have to admit that it’s the bike I now pinch...huge fun!

I am a Specialized Guy since many Sears, always Stumpjumpers mountainbikes. My dealer have me a Levo 3 years ago for a weekend and now I have bought my second Levo e-mtb and it's amazing and pure fun.
As they say in their ads: it's You, just faster.

Another Specialized Vado owner here.
Excellent to ride without e-support, but even better when additional power is appreciated.
No need to be afraid of hills or headwinds and my wife can keep up at same speed.

I bought an Invoxia GPS tracker for my e-bike. It's small enough to secrete inside the frame, battery should last a month before re-charge. You can set up zones so that you are alerted on your phone if it the tracker leaves that zone. It cost just under €100, and does not require a sim card or a monthly subscription for the first 3 years. The ARCC seems to be one of the best engineered Brompton conversions but the cost is high compared to say the Nano.

The ARCC seems to be one of the best engineered Brompton conversions but the cost is high compared to say the Nano.
As far as I can see the only advantage of a Brompton is that it can be folded up. If you need to be able to fold a bike up (as I did when I used one for train/bike commuting) then they are pretty much unbeatable, but the price you pay is very high indeed, both in monetary and functional terms. A Brompton with ARCC kit is going to be around the £3k mark, easily enough for a very well-specced pedelec that will outperform a Brompton in every way. These days my Brompton sits in the shed, I haven't ridden it for years.

for anyone interested, these are currently on offer at Amazon for £74.25 - so nearly £25 off the web site price. I have ordered one to try out as there are quite a few negative comments re. coverage in the UK; we shall see.....  If it works it should be really useful for e-bike, motorbike, etc. James

Good thing about Bromptons they fit snugly in a bag on a Morgan passenger seat.
