Hi everyone, now into first month of mog ownership and enjoying every minute. Following my first experience of washing wire wheels I took some advice from kind folks at brands hatch morgan, who told me to use a motorcycle cleaner. I invested in a bottle of s doc 100. This product is amazing I have bout numerous wheel cleaners in the past but the gel formula cuts through all the grime without any need to scrub of agitate the dirt on the wheels at all, just spray on leave for five mins the. Jet wash off easy, please try this product, it can also e used on the bodywork to get rid of baked on insects honestly it's amazing

Thanks for the recommendation Jatinder. I was wondering how I was going to keep the wheels in good condition.
While we are on the subject. Does anyone else out there in wire wheel land have any useful tips on keeping them nice all year round ?
Cheers, N-M

I have used the S100 products before, they all work very well, but they are very expensive (around here anyway).

Once they are clean, a good coating of Auto Glym Super Resin Polish works a treat for a season long shine!!

Sounds good, I will try this. I also have tried plenty of alternatives including the factory products, none of which give the perfect finish. I always have to use polish afterwards.

I have used the S100 products before, they all work very well, but they are very expensive (around here anyway). I was given a tip to use good old 'supermarket available' (cheap) "CIF Stainless Steel sink cleaner" it works well for me.. I also have the stuff from MSW (manufacturers of the wire wheels) but that is expensive and you get loads of rinse but smaller quantity of cleaner and they don't sell it separately.

"Muc off" (for mountain bikes) - low cost, works brilliantly - spray on, hose off, job done.

Does anyone know the influence of wheel cleaners or the other recommended products on the brakes? Since I had to replace a set of brake pads I use no spray cleaner at all while the wheels are on the car. To clean them thoroughly I take them off, which gives me the chance to clean grease the front end etc.

I just did my stainless wire wheels. Washed with car shampoo then Bilberry juice followed by autosl and a final seal with dodo wheel sealer I will see how they last! Getting into the nooks and crannies is a pain.... I will try to make something to use instead of a finger and cloth! My wife has smaller fingers..... I am too frightened to suggest to her she could do it!!
