On the subject of garages , being a stones throw from the sea and can get rather cold I lagged the roof . Then bought some of these large carpet tiles of many shades and have a black tar like rear , then stuck them around the walls to a height of a about 4ft .
its made a hell of a difference except its hot in the summer . When you open the side door you can feel the heat so its not bad working in it

for a long while I have used a guard a mate told me of under my tyres

Hi Paul, in answer to you question, yes The car is parked on it and I use a trolly jack with no problems, the only thing it does not like is welding splatter, but otherwise - very serviceable.

I still have a concrete floor but eventually intend to put something on it. Probably tiles of some kind. I currently put cardboard from packaging down to collect any spillages and it will show any drip leaks as a bonus. We have some items coming tomorrow so will have fresh cardboard to replace what’s there. There is a stain on it after a brake fluid job when I tipped the waste fluid container and it saved the floor underneath.

I have to admit to old carpet from the house in the garage. It may not look pristine like some others examples I have seen but It’s not the end of the world if it dents a bit of grease or brake dust on it.

I'm going to go for the Ecotiles I think.
I not only want it to look good but also want to stop any cold or damp rising in the winter.
The Ecotiles will seal the floor where I suspect carpet tiles could retain any dampness longer, especially if putting the car away wet underneath after getting caught driving in the rain.

I often wonder how the large storage places get on? The one at Biscester Heritage Center stores dozens of rare and expensive cars for long peroiod and one of their selling points is the thickness (very thick) of the concret slab the building is on. I have never asked what the meaning of that USP is?
Do they mean for securiity, or dampness or temperature changes? I've no idea.

I just know I want my cold concret floor damp proofed and clean and tidy with warmer and softer being a useful bonus

The idea of carpet tiles on the wall is interesting though, I like th esound of that

I have used Dynotiles on my last 2 garages. No problems having the Aston jacked up on them for 3 days being serviced.

Garage floor suggestions,------ I would say yes, it's a good idea to have one!!!

I'm a big fan of the polyaspartic epoxy coating in the garage. At home I went with a checkerboard pattern:





The new garage space I'm building at my office is a solid light grey:



This coating is pretty much bullet proof after about 1 week.

That looks amazing . Just looked it up, it seems to be an impressive product, sadly I would not have a hope in hell of getting my Garage floor flat and smooth enough to get a finish worthy of it.

I didnt think I would ever be jealous of a garage floor. And yet here I am, enviously looking over that lovely chequered garage floor
