Whilst out running this morning I was surprised to first hear and then see a M3W coming down the road towards me. I was so surprised that my enthusiastic waving at the driver made him stop and think that I was warning him of a hazard ahead!. I did explain that I was a 4/4 owner and wished him an enjoyable journey. If it was one of our TMers - my apologies. I thought that I recognised the numberplate but did not recognise the driver and he did not recognise me.
Sorry to have caused the stop. hide

Driving my M3W or vintage Sunbeam I get quite a lot of headlamp flashing/vigorous waving. Are they trying to warn me of something or do they recognise me? If its just to say "nice car" a simple thumbs up would be enough & I would be clear on the message.

It was me ! I was about to simply wave back, but the combination of you and another pedestrian opposite and a car on the verge on the brow of the hill ahead made me think twice and I thought I ought to check everything was OK. No need to apologise, nice to meet you Phil, I now wish I'd stayed for a chat. The M3W often gets a positive reaction but yours was possibly the most enthusiastic yet - thankyou !
