I have noticed the service departments at the stealerships are becoming rather more bandit in their activities in this climate.
I asked MB in Basingrad to quote on some work on the Lorry and got a large number back. I had always used them in the past and found them pretty good but this took the pi__. I phone Tim Purslow an Indi just outside town and previous owner of the local dealership and it was 60% of the price and I felt rather better talking to them as well. It's out of warranty so I know where it's going.
The same is true of our local Mini dealer.
It's not like I walk in wearing a Rolex dripping with £50 notes.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I guess that the handbrake will never go out of adjustment as there are no cables to stretch and no pads to wear, so should give an easy MOT pass! That is certainly not true on a Discovery 3. Ours (OK, it did have 110k miles on it by then) started failing to engage fully - the parking brake motor was hunting up and down for a lock I think. Looked the fault up online and the fix was way beyond simple spanners. Dealer adjusted it and said if I had left it any longer, it would have needed a new motor at £560 + VAT + fitting.

Guys I know just having this conversation on another forum re LR servicing
It’s very apparent that they are absolutely having the customers trousers down maki g up stuff to do.
1 example where they have an estimate for additional work at over 5k
He turned round and said it’s under warranty where they turned around and said, ok no problem we will take care of it all.
When he collected the car 75% of the work wasn’t undertaken. Apparently LR Warranty deemed the items not necessary. Absolutely shocking.

I wonder if that is a branch of S***tstone ? Their Nottingham LR branch is perfectly capable of that sort of thing. When we first had a Disco, it took me a few months to realise that the 6 miles away Nottingham branch was so poor and that none of the locals use them. The Melton Mowbray LR dealer (Marshalls) is still staffed by the same technicians as when the majority of their clients were farmers and offers servicing at around 20% cheaper than S***tstone.

You should talk to SteveT about supposed warranty checks at the local LR dealer.
