Hello to all, I acquired my 1979 xflow four seater as an abandoned project, to be honest the word project is being somewhat generous, I prefer the term of bead-blasted jig-saw puzzle. I have come across a wooden panel which has had me scratching my head, see pic. This is my first Morgan and my knowledge is restricted to what I have gleaned from the web and for the life of me I cant identify the panel in question. To me it looks as if it could be some sort of floor panel with three pedal apertures and a steering column slot, but from what vehicle? Could anyone confirm this is not for my Morgan? Had mine down to the chassis (a '75 crossflow 4 seater) and not come across anything remotely like that .... think it may be off another project of the previous owner's (he's probably still wondering where it went!!  ) K

Looks ancient, have no clues to contribute but intrigued to know more....  Best of luck with your Mog project!

I have rebuilt a few Morgans in my time (admittedly not a 4/4 4 seater) but i have never come across any wooden panel that looks even remotely like that.
However perhaps someone familiar with the 4/4 Series 1 may be able to rule out that this is not part of the bulkhead (which are wood)

It couldn't be something specific to a left-hand drive model could it (if yours is LHD)?
I've never taken my 4-seater down to its component parts but I've been over most of it doing maintenance and I've never seen anything like that. There isn't anything similar in the parts book that I can see.
Like everyone else, I'm intrigued to find out what it's from. It seems to have a couple of cable clips tacked to it!

Looks like a bulkhead panel where the pedals protrude through on stalks, not from a Mog as they are mounted to the shaft with bearing block style fixings to the floor

Like K , I have nearly finished putting my 1976 4/4 2 seater back together and stripped it right down. I don't recognise it either. But best of luck with the project!

The last panel I saw like that was from The Mary Rose in dry dock in Portsmouth!
Interesting addition of non period phone cable clips too.
