The cat removal does not make much difference in terms of noise, but it definitely helps with the heat, as the headers do not turn gray as fast.

CEL cannot be affected, as the cat sits after the o2 sensor.

very interesting and a good point about the cat after the sensor.

In my case, removal of the cats yielded no discernable increase in 'noise'. Not sure anyone would notice regardless!
The baffelectomy is a full-blown success.
No engine light.

Yes, the removal of the first baffle is the best $30 mod you can do to your car, also, love the sound!

Will it get the same or comparable throttle response as the G56 set up? I know the cats create a huge heat issue on motorcycles. On motorcycles it added a little to the sound but it helped reduce the awful heat that was right under the passenger foot rest.
I have debated with several guys about the removal of the cat would cause an engine code. It just isn't possible. The cat is after the O2 sensor and the sensor has no idea if it is there or not. If you are getting a warning light, there is something else happening. I ran thousands of miles after the removal of the cat and never got a code or light.

I am sure it’s somewhat comparable, as the biggest limitation is the ecu adaptation limit. Emil’s fuel system makes the biggest difference in throttle response :-)

I am wondering that the "engine light" is as hit or miss as everything else Morgan. Several of us on much of the time, others do not. Well, mine is off at idle.

Mine comes on during the startup procedure and then going out when it fires up an then comes back on about a block away. I have not looked at the codes lately but it is on my Winter List to make a permanent dashboard access to the ecu on or right under the dash, like in that offside cigarettle lighter hole. I made a plug for that hole for a switch (since relocated it) so adapting something there should be eay.

Stephen are you running the stage 2 cams? Do you have the unlocked ecu? No check engine light on my end but have the unlocked ecu with both stage 1 and stage 2. The unlocked ecu allows you to do map merges.

Stage 2 cams and a stock ecu. The CEL is probably be ause of not completely merged tuning but darn it runs great Nd starts fine. I am going to check the e u code soon since it might also be because I disconnected the fuel level sensor from the ecu. I have not found a teenager who can hack MorgNs ecu for the unlock code.
