Well, after the handbrake fiasco I braved it today and now the passenger window is fully open and when you press the activate button it sounds like its working but a cable seems to sound like its going around in a "broken" mode? Any ideas? I would love to have it fixed before July 2021 - to say this car is testing my patience is an understatement! Maybe SiFab can advise? T

It happened to me once. Passenger side. I had to replace the mechanism (in 2014). https://www.aero-racing.co.uk/partsbooks/supersports/doorinternals.htmWith not too much hurry, I am waiting it happens on the driver side as well. Since it will... I know it. Probably in winter. While raining.

Hi Ale, What was the actual part that failed and did you have to go back to MMC for the part? thanks T

If I recall right it was this one (the cable should be where arrows are) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/KjRTBqtB/cable.jpg) Borghi (Morgan dealer/importer for Italy) took care of everything. But it was not that long. Fixed in one or two weeks. For sure it's coming from some other car and I can bet that being able to find the original source would be much cheaper.

Yes this happened to me at about 20k miles as well, drivers side which gets more use so I can hear the sidepipes.
There is a BMW window lift motor which is attached to a splined cable which is twisted through quite an angle. I believe the splines delaminate and shear off the motor assembly. It is terminal and the factory and dealer chain just say replacement (yikes the price!) of the whole assembly. I believe SiFab has made a few comments on it and may have an option?

Hi Alistair, Many thanks for the response - I have dropped SiFab a text to see if he can help! Is it all BMW parts or is there a Morgan "part" amongst it all? T

Mine went on the Coupe and when replaced they told me it was BMW drive motor but had a "Morgan" attachment on the end which connected the cable up to the lift mech towards the rear of the door. The length of this cable does go around quite a tight bend in the small confines of the door and so as it rotates it puts stress on the join to the custom bracket that fits on the motor so leading to the individual strands shearing off the bracket.
(From memory) As it starts to go you feel/hear a splinter and brushing noise as the strands wipe around then it may work once or twice more slowly with more sounds then it lets go totally and you have no up/down. If it is urgent you can take the door off and manually wind the window up but you need the right tools to avoid damaging the leather. Also once it is up you have to be careful as opening and closing can do some damage to the rubber seal around the inside of the door frame at the top. Leave it just a fraction down so it just brushes it on open/close.
The part is not always easily available I am afraid. I had to wait a while.
Welcome to Aero ownership. Whilst it may pee you off the answer is to drive it MORE not less. The balance offsets the aggravation.

Hmm - thanks Alastair, it sounds like another fiasco. I have contacted Simon at SiFab and he advised if I take the faulty item off then he will try and source it, but I am worried about damaging the leather. Is there a specific tool to help do you know? Thanks T

T IIRC someone mentioned Ford Fiesta Mk4 in the past ?? That's S1 Aero, but they're modified. I'm trying to reliably source those as well at the moment. The aftermarket versions are not quite right....
