... I have found the ultimate is a flying helmet. After all you're not going to be travelling much faster than in the cockpit of an open plane. Much faster? Hopefully not Agreed - Tiger Moth cruises over 80mph, and the Boeing Stearman over 100mph....

Easy up is a joke. The Simmonds hood is far easier Similarly the Allon White hood conversion of trad hoods - very quick and easy to raise and lower. We had the AW conversion on our 1985 4/4. It was very quick and easy but the factory easy-up is both quicker and easier to live with on a touring holiday - the catches on the rear of the hood that held it down were inaccessible with a full holiday load.
