Reactions to this may be interesting... From your post, one could take it that there will could be a new M3W, but of a controversial non-traditional design. The chassis and installed drivetran built outside the UK? CX chassis with BMW/Mini engine gearbox in front wheel drive? Electric only, but on CX chassis with MiniE motor in front wheel drive? The CX style chassis built in the UK Mini factory with the mini front wheel drive installed? Built under contract by Vanderhal (USA), but with the Morgan name and accompanying 2x price tag? And my personal favourite: New 2l water-cooled V-Twin built by Porsche (as they did for Harley with the V-Rod) setting out front, with starter attached and wet clutch with power transmitted via a torque tube encased drive shaft to a rear mounted 6-Speed transaxle (ala, Porsche 924/944) for weight distribution and more leg room? Or perhaps the expected (and probably most likely) news is that Morgan will discontinue the 3-Wheeler altogether?

My understanding from a dealer contact is it will be the CX chassis and a smaller BMW engine.

I did hear from a reliable source that the new 3 wheeler will have an enclosed engine and be very diferent in appearance to the current M3W

Back when the CX chassis was being developed it was rumoured there would be a Plus Three
My money is on a CX chassis with a transverse 3 cylinder BMW engine and FWD.
As the "Plus Six Restoration" article in Miscellany makes clear, the rear subframe is a seperate part, so a new subframe with a single rear wheel wouldn't be a big ask, especially as no drive shaft/differential would be needed.
So, let us wait and see...
Also, a PlusThree E with electric drive wouldn't be difficult next step.

That is a rumour that I have heard. It would reduce the re-engineering complexity and give a good power/weight ratio. I see the logic but it does not interest me much. What a shame that VW did not proceed with the GX3.

My understanding from a dealer contact is it will be the CX chassis and a smaller BMW engine. It's very bulky the CX chassis, I just can't see the elegant 'lightness' of design required, working on a MTW

I dream of a new Threewheeler with the original design, but with the new 1.800 ccm 2 cylinder boxer engine from BMW...
