Most of the aforementioned, plus
Driving without lights when it's pouring with rain. Joining a three (or more) lane carriageway from a slip road and darting across traffic straight to the outside lane. Lorries doing the slower-than-a-slow thing overtake on a 2 lane carriageway (the M2 is notorious for it!).
I could go on..............
In Suffolk a land without 3 lane roads he trucks were #4 on my list.

Let me start with people, specifically those who don't understand the joy of driving a car that has much more performance than can be used, anyone who tries to convince me that they are right: all politicians, many church people and all sales people. and all people who take themselves seriously and cannot laugh at their own imperfections.
Next, the curse of celebrity.
Last, all advertising, but specifically by Charities.

It's looking like Celebrities are not coming off too well. Having been an Executive at Warner Bros. I can understand why.

These African countries are very special driving experiences, Lesotho and Swaziland were my favourites It always makes me smile when people complain about pot holes in this country, they should try out some dirt road driving

My experience at 3 in the morning around Mombasa was less pleasant we had 7 folks with machetes and machine guns in the company holiday home. I bribed them to leave and once they did I headed off I headed off to find the police. The crooks appeared & opened fire but missed the car & I crashed the compound gates to get the fuzz.
The scarier part was 6 policemen loading their weapons and we headed back to the house in my Peugeot flat pack 504 estate car. A 303 Enfield next to your ear as it is loaded on the move is odd. End result was a sad list of stolen things like Janices' sewing kit my trainers , the kids toys. All the good stuff was upstairs protected by ta jail door.
Clinton was busy invading Blackhawks in Ethiopa at the time & the locals blamed it on that.
A few months later a good friend got shot in Nairobi & we left.
I still miss the people and the country but it wasn't a family posting. In Nairobi I could go to the game park for lunch from the factory. I also drove an Enfield Bullet to work.
Richard I know what you mean about potholes

Good thread this 1. Timid drivers who constantly touch their brakes at every slight curve in the road or car coming along in the opposite direction. 2. Motorway drivers who cannot read the signs and swerve across lanes the last moment. 3. School run drivers in huge 4x4's that they can't even see over the steering wheel of. I could go on

Paul,
the kids today are taught to use their brakes, not change gear and use engine braking. It annoys the hell out of me, but it seems we are dinosaurs.
