Hi-spec are relatively local to me and I’ve bought a few sets off them. Normally an issue too I have to say.

Last set were for a mk1 golf GTI where the calliper didn’t sit straight on the disc and the pads over shot the disc in part too.

I have up and bought a kit off AP. Spot on.

Short update.... Filing down the brake mount bracket on the car sucks..
But i guess it works.. I filed down 3.5mm now - 8. 2mm are left on the bracket ... Somebody more qualified than me should build matching mount brackets for the HiSpec brakes...
To allow free movement of the brake pads i still need an additional millimeter. I tend to also shorten the pad as TBM recommended

Although I am not really keen to take everything apart again I believe the best method would be to use a belt sander. I wish i had known this requirement for the HiSpec brakes when i had the brackets completely off....
Maybe i will do this with the other side of the car tomorrow

Thanks for that Simon - I got mine from Mulfab via BerryBrook, and there was no mention in the Mulfab instructions unfortunately.

That's strange, I got mine from Peter and the instructions were clear to file down the bracket. Easy peasy job, I used a Dremel.

Mulfab isn't Peter anymore though.....

Of course, I forgot.

I have delivered today some 4 pot HighSpec calipers from SiFab looking forward to fitting these to my Plus4 year 2000 car that originally had the Lockheed Princess calipers....I think they are the following ideally I need to know the part no so I can source spare seals o rings clips etc for future servicing.

Anyone confirm the parts please?

Torque settings for caliper bolts to bracket, stub axle castle nuts with split pin, please

Any photos of Morgan fitting?

Si has very kindly machined my caliper mounting bracket to fit the calipers.

I fitted a Mulfab upgrade two years ago. No problem with getting the pads in. The only issue was the incorrect hole diameter for the calliper mounting bolts. It was fractionally undersize so bolts wouldn’t go through. When I phoned Mulfab they checked their stock and they were all incorrect. A Hi-Spec error. I simply drilled the holes out rather than send them back.

Just now Tim, the publisher isn't interested in an enlarged version of my book, although I've done quite a lot of improvements since it was published. So unless they change their mind, there won't be an update.

Overhaul kits here Rob. Note seal kit includes those tiny "O" rings that seal caliper halves.
