Hi all
I have been a Morgan owner for 1 month now. Picked up our 2008 Roadster on the 21 October from Bell and Colvill and decided to drive it home (about 5 miles) with the top down. Wife following. Halfway home the heavens opened, couldn’t stop to put the roof up due to traffic and narrow roads so carried on. All ok until stopping at junctions or for roadworks (where is the soap dish situated please). When I was about half a mile from home the middle wiper arm flew off as I was negotiating a roundabout. Parking quickly I alighted from the car (not elegantly I might add) and wandered around in the middle of the road until the arm was retrieved. As the rain had stopped we carried on home parked in the garage mopped up the interior and after inspection no harm done.
I have been a member of “talkmorgan” since early October and have found it to be a friendly forum with polite, knowledgeable posters with fast and informative replies. I hope I can be of some help in the future as a retired garage/MOT station owner.

Welcome Brian from NE Scotland, my Morgan delivery day was not without issue either, and that was delivered on a transporter!!
I'm sure your knowledge will be called upon soon.
Wishing you many happy miles and memories.

Welcome Brian.
Clearly, a memorable introduction to the joys of owning a Morgan. It becomes part of the whole wonderful experience. All of us have had a similar experience but I think you may have ticked at least two or three of the more common ones on your first day!
Enjoy!

A very warm welcome to TM.

At least your car can no longer be described as “never driven in the rain”.

They flourish with use - hope you get to enjoy many happy and safe miles.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have a few niggles with the car and have found some interesting solutions on TM already, plus the car does have a warranty. Fingers crossed we may have some winter sun and a run out soon.

Welcome to the forum Brian, you survived the christening and overcame the first foible with aplomb, I suspect there may be others that appear in time, but at least I imagine you have a guarantee (-:

I bought my old +8 never having driven it, and drove it circa 260 miles home in February sans hood...not unsurprisingly it rained on occasion... (-:

I hope your Morgan provides all you might hope it could, mine has and more..

Welcome Brian, enjoy the journey, I'm already looking forward to next year when we should be ble to return to a more normal Morgan experience!

I had to smile when I read of your return drive: it has happened to all of us!
I do not recommend driving in hail, it hurts the ears...
I've not tried snow....
