I bet on the BMW R18 engine...

4 aircooled cylinders, 7 tires, not waterproof: my m3w Bluebelle (2013) and my 2CV Gundel (1990)

That would seem like quite an enticing option, assuming MMC go down the BMW parts-bin route.

It's compact engine and gearbox would allow for some neat packaging while retaining something bright and shiny sticking out the front of the car. Not a V-Twin but better than a front wheel drive Mini engine hidden under the bodywork somewhere. It seems that the R18 gearbox has a reverse gear too!

No brainer - especially having a reverse gear. Would just need a bespoke drive shaft length. I've suggested this unit in a prevous post without having full details.

Personally I doubt another Morgan 3 wheeler will ever materialise, and if it does it will be BMW based engine and quite tame/sanitised as in its everyday driving experience.

I wonder how that would effect someone who had a large warranty claim in the next couple of years ?

R18 also has optional Hill Start.

Apologies for the poor image but snipped from the configurator. Front end would look good.

Peter, I meant if it got a bit acrimonious and the legals got involved "sorry pal, can't help as officially they don't exist anymore"

You'd hope the powers that be at MMC wouldn't and it would be a PR disaster for them, too many owners know each other, even if it is virtual but Lawyers are normally sensible and always want the best for both parties......

just a correction about the HD M8 engine. My Road King has a wet sump and so does the water cooled head M8. The engines on the softails (not water cooled heads) have a dry sump
