I don't think the Genie goes easily back into the bottle so easily.

Alex Roy once said of the M3W, "a wonderful idea, terribly executed"

I'll use the word 'disappointed' for MMC's choices.

Then again, this is all the past and here's a reminder of what the future looks like...

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I'd need several pints to get inside that...Sorry.

Agreed. The rear view sketch looks OK, but from every other angle it looks appalling. Someone needs to confiscate the designers crayons....

What Pete Larson would not have known at the time was that Tony Divey had had a stroke and was slowly slipping into Alzheimers. His production had virtually ceased and things were in a bit of a muddle. Tony told me several times that he couldn't keep track of things since he had had the stroke.

I think it was in 2004 that he offered me a left hand drive Triking that he had been building for an American customer that had "disappeared". I could well imagine that after goodness knows how long a delay his customer could have given up. I did think about it quite seriously (I had been looking at Triking in the early '90s) but in the end I decided that getting plates on it in Italy would be too difficult.

He was also looking at building 100 replica 3 wheelers with sliding kingpin front suspension and Moto Guzzi engines. A prototype was partially built but short sightedness by the Guzzi executive pretty much scuppered the idea. I know that somehow a well known Morgan personality was involved and was very abrupt and scathing in his remarks about Tony Divey.

Triking was eventually taken over by Alan Layzell who used to work with Tony. I hope he is doing well with it in this very difficult times.

I'm not sold on the particular colour combination in that photo, but in the dark paint finish on the other thread I think it looks brilliant; I'd have one in a shot.

I have stood next to it and it is lower than the current M3W so for my money the white with red stripe would be more visible. Less chance of getting flattened by an inattentive driver.

I've worked it out - it looks like a Grinnal Scorpion that's been left too near the fire...... smile smile

I quite like it - it's different, which is probably why.
I'm not likely to buy one though. Quite a few years ago I did look at JZR and came close to a B.R.A. (don't bother googling it! laugh2) - British Racing Automobiles IIRC, but I think they sank a number of years ago. Might still have a build instruction book somewhere.

I do, the build quality is something else if you have been following it on here.

Maybe Auto Union style silver would be the way to go.

I think it looks much better without the front mudguards.

I'd happily compare any weld on my ACE#10 to the best weld on any M3W, but then again breaking welds seems to be an accepted 'part of the experience' for M3W owners.

While I owned both, I took them to a few shows and it was the rare individual that preferred the Morgan's looks. Yes, the M3W was definitely popular at the dance, until the ACE showed up.

The original ACE weighs much less and has more power too, but this is a Morgan forum so I'm not surprised...
