When I got mine this afternoon the application form said advance tickets!
Some times they issue them in batches so it might be worth keeping an eye open as there maybe a second issue soon?
I don't know that for sure, but thats the normal procedure, but then this year has been anything but normal.

On the site it says it's limited to 2000 tickets for this one. I imagine that's why the price is higher.
As I said, in normal circmstances I probably wouldn't bother, but booking stuff up so I've got something different to look forward to.....

I've only been there once in April. It was a bleak place, with a totally inadequate access, which was a mudbath. Hopefully that has improved, but I suspect that in January it will be even bleaker and cold, and probably even muddier.
So I don't feel the need to make the trip this time. Maybe in the summer. What's there is remarkable but it needs far better public access than was the case when I visited.
