- very sad to hear this. It's been discussed on TM before , but if you get the chance ,try to watch 'The Right Stuff' movie. It is about the space race and early astronaut training but Yeager* appears in the first part of the movie as he attempts to break the sound barrier. One of my all time favourite movies; turn the sound up.....  James * the real Yeager makes a cameo appearance as the Janitor who cuts his broom handle in half to allow the pilot to close the cockpit!

What amazes me is the technology change these guys would have seen, not being an aviation buff in any way but in the uk Lancaster Vulcan Concorde in a very short period of time. Em

Maybe you get a few. May he fly high. Those were brave and crazy times.
