Good to see there is some humour and nonsense, as well as some real grit set against fine literature in your selections everyone! Keep them coming.
Any one for A La Recherche du Temps Perdu? I read it about 15 years ago; it took a whole year, reading nothing else. Exhausting. Does anyone remember Monty Python's Summarising Proust Contest.

But if you could choose only one film Paul, what would it be? Reach for the Sky - a great story of triumph over adversity. I am not sure I would have enjoyed Bader's company but I admire his drive and determination.

When taking people out in Archie, I have often mentioned the scene in Reach for the Sky where our three invalids go out to the local pub in an MGA(?). I try and give them a picture of all that pre-WW2 motoring thrill Paul, along with the feel of dodgy suspension and the promise of warm beer!

Colditz Story (1955) Goodbye Mr Chips (original version) Reach for the Sky The Godfather (1) The First of the Few Genevieve The Last of the Mohicans 633 Squadron
Most of the above sat alongside my late uncle who we lost when I was a child, a wonderful man who took me to the cinema most weeks and always seemed to have a bag of sweets.
Happy memories Colin

Brilliant. The second one wasn't too bad either. Then add ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’ and I’d be content. Bud 4/4 - Stanley
