The only way to tow the Plus 8 is to remove the propshaft - the reason being that the oil pump in the gearbox would not be working although there would still be rotation of gears etc with the shaft connected. Same reason as the automatic boxes. I don't know about any other Morgan gearbox arrangements but I would always get a flatbed recovery as opposed to risking it. Towing is not a very safe thing really unless it's over a very short distance in old bangers

Aaaaah.
Have been watching odd episodes of Trucking Hell recently and that matches why they remove the “half shaft” on the lorries before towing. ie it’s a gear box thing rather than anything else...wonder if same applies to electric cars (thread drift apology insert here)

Well at long last my S4 is booked in at the MMC Factory to remove the propshaft and send make to the original manufacturers to refurbish. Hopefully then will be able to enjoyin time for when Boris relaxes some of the Covid restrictions so that we all may be able to enjoy a bit more freedom driving somewhere....anywhere will do!!
