My first mod will be to sort out the exhaust system, needs to sound like a Harley on open pipes.

I think that I will have thenm black ceramic coated over the winter. I had some harley pipes done this year and they turned out very well. However, it is expensive, costs on par with chrome plating

Yes black performance in scotland. They have a website, I think it's a small one man outfit, but I have to say he did an excellent job for me and i will have no hesitation in using them again

Thinking about it, I somewhat prefer the discolored look of the black exhaust pipe. The ordinary and natural aging of the 3W during usage seems in character with the 3W's heritage. Sort of like an old favorite shirt or pair of shoes. Here's a link showing such discoloration taken yesterday (03 Sep 11) at Hamburg Stadtpark Revival. Zoom in for a better look.

I think in our climate it would soon be a mass of rust and it would look terrible. In a dry climate it might be fine if it was just discoloured.
I have tried exhaust wrap but again it looks bad after it gets dirty. I have also heard that the trapped heat can cause exhaust pipe cracks, but I have not experienced this myself.

A company in my area can do miracles with stainless steel tubes. Might go for that option, maybe bend them old racing style - both with exit on the left side and fit a side mounted luggage rack on the other... Some tubing inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avcbJ6_lPHk

The problem with stainless is that it goes gold / brown after it gets heated, the same way that chrome goes blue.

I'm afraid mine will have to be in chrome... P.S. What about using Inconel?
