FB is so complicated, I prefer Instagram just pictures of cars and the very annoying scantily clad women

FB is a soulless place. Melting kid brains with inane crap. They have the power to direct only the information they want you to see and IMO that is just wrong. 'but they are a private company, they can do what they want' Yeah yeah, blah blah blah, whatever. Mind you, most social is is the same. If you join specific groups that interest you then social media is definitely a useful tool. I found this place hugely useful. There is a wealth of knowledge here ( you old fogies really know your stuff. Im teasing and with new members popping up, they are bound to ask the same or similar question. I know I did and still do ! :-) 'Look into my eyes. I will suck the very soul from you' ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/19/z.jpg)

Perhaps it's the company you keep My FB is full of mates having a laugh and generally taking the p1ss out of each other. However, I do tailor my feed so I only see stuff I want to. The 'hide all' and 'unfollow' options make it fairly easy.

Facebook is not a faultless company and Zuckerberg doesn't appear to be a particularly nice human being, but I figure as long as I use the service they provide but never buy anything I see advertised that I wasn't going to get anyway, I'm the one getting the better of the relationship. I reckon most people who have a poor experience with Facebook haven't spent any time learning how to leverage the privacy options in their favour. I've just had a quick look at my timeline. 4 jokes/notifications from mates, one link to an article on the failure of trickle-down capitalism, some pictures from our local history group, an advert for kitchen basics food delivery, an advert for a food mixer (too late Zuck, I bought the Kitchen Aid one I was googling yesterday), and some useful info from our local coronavirus community response group. Hardly a pit of awfulness.

I've just learned, from a post on Facebook, what to do it you see a sheep lying on its back. I checked it out (on a couple of farming sites) of course and now feel I am a better citizens for it. Thanks Facebook.

The Devon and Cornwall Constabulary have great success in locating missing persons and escapees on the site, they name and shame the extreme excess speeders and highlight their various road safety campaigns. They are really up to date on all the latest fraud scams especially the really nasty Amazon gift vouchers one which a lot have fallen foul of. Many of our local businesses have finally crawled out from under the rock during Covid and keep their customers informed of opening times or takeaway services which benefits all involved. There are a lot on here that use it but seem shy to declare it for whatever reason.... I would feel the same if I used Twatter or Instragam

Thanks Facebook. I saw that too! It was news to me, and I lived in the Welsh mountains for 4 years. Every day a learning day:)

Thanks Facebook. I saw that too! It was news to me, and I lived in the Welsh mountains for 4 years. Every day a learning day:) A ewe late in pregnancy is a very unwieldy beast, and if they stuck on their backs the crows and foxes will move in very quickly - frequently within a couple of hours. If you don't get to them quickly they can be in a right mess. Even if they don't get pecked/worried they can develop very bad pressure sores very quickly and the pressure on their internal organs does them no good either. I have pictures, but you wouldn't want to see them. If you see a sheep on its back, never be worried about the right way to get them up, roll them over any way you can and steady them whilst they get to their feet. They can be a bit wobbly at first, but they soon recover.
