Little car - big engine. Perfect.
I did think of the C63, the coupe was not released when I went shopping. I wanted a supercruiser in the end and needed silence so went with the CL600. Big car - bigger engine, still wicked. It does feel large and slightly remote however.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Terrific. I think a de-badged estate with silver wheels is a bit of a q-car given how many Mercs have AMG bits. You're in middle lane in a 50mph restriction zone, you wait 'til near the wonderful black diagonal sign, and as the diesel Insignia driver behind you pulls out into third lane you plant your right foot and disappear  Yes I am childish

Brian -Any C63 updates? My 2.3 16 a few years ago   It's been out twice all year but I'd like to take it here for engine work this winter to Stadler Motorsport. But I've been saying that for a long time.. http://www.190teile.de/index_e.html

Not really Roger, but it is certainly the best daily driver I have had in recent years. Now that it has some miles on it, the engine is a bit freer and the performance really is effortless.
I love the looks of your Cosworth and really fancy one of them. What engine work are you considering having done? If it is original it would be a shame to alter it too much.
Trust you still have the Series I, are we going to see you on some Aero events next year?

The upgrades are to get more power - there's KE upgrades, internals and also throttle bodies and engine management. Current power is supposed to be 185bhp but it is 25 years old. 7.5 0-60 too and revs to 7k with big cam at 4k. You are right a doggy car is the one to do that too. It's just that I want to go bit quicker and it's probably time to spend some preventative money. Reversable. I'll let you have a drive Brian - one/it would look good next to the C63.

Look forward to that Roger, we can swap steeds and you can try the C63. It has the PPP so 487 bhp, goes like the proverbial...

I tried a Volvo V50 T5 on the weekend. Big engine, smallish car. Went more than quick enough. I have no idea how twice that power must feel!

Another German built car for a sensible daily driver: http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_reports/weineck-cobra-780cui.htm The German tuning company has not released 0-100km/h performance numbers because apparently they are not relevant. Instead, the Weineck Cobra 780CUI will rocket from 0-200km/h in 4.9 seconds, and does the 0-300km/h dash in 10 seconds flat.
The 12.9-litre V8 engine can rev to 8000rpm, developing peak power of 809kW or 1100hp @ 7000rpm, which would be enough energy to power a small village in Iceland.
Torque levels for the old-school engine are even more stunning - 1760Nm @ 5600rpm.
