Boat build
Another experiment in photo posting, this photo was taken yesterday, if this works I will add earlier pictures of the build and bore you all.
Fantastic, it worked, now I can add earlier pictures if there's any appetite for them out in TM land. I might even do it there's not.😂

Truly lovely work. It will be great to see it on the water- hopefully in 2023.
I have my 3020 in the loft- I keep meaning to get it fixed. A great amp.

Any updates for us, Gordon? Here’s a couple of pictures to put you in the mood😁 Our boat was in Inverness last weekend for a service so we took a wee tour on the way back. Findhorn was lovely, unexpectedly good meal at the marina restaurant. Burghead felt the travelling back in time, hardly a soul around. We stopped in past Lossiemouth too, spoiled for choice of ice cream shops but I forgot to take a picture. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_6798.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_6779.jpeg)

Thanks for the interest Ewan. Nothing much been happening recently due to other commitments coupled with a dip in enthusiasm. A bit of an issue with supplied charge wire has caused me a lot of extra work and much I should have carried out my own research and not accepted the advice of the seller, hindsight is a great thing! Most of the 12 volt electrics are here now, transducers are fitted as is the Actisense gadget that takes analogue signals from the engine and sender's then converts to NMEA 2000 so everything can be displayed on the Raymarine chart plotter. I have completed the hardwood trim on the helm seat, made and fitted a maple cabin door but still need to fit stops and facings. I'll take some pics over the weekend and post an update. Nice pictures as usual Ewan, i did suggest launching the boat locally and sailing it up to Inverness, stopping off at the likes of Lossiemouth / Nairn but Mrs D said it would be a solo voyage for some reason 🤣

Good news on the progress, the last bits are always the slowest and most challenging, don’t be discouraged 🫤
I wasn’t too keen on a quick launch at Findhorn/ burghead, the tide was half out and falling which is never ideal for the slip and I’ve always found beach coasts a bit boring in the boat unless we’re swimming.

As promised here's some pics of what progress has been made. First up the domestic battery box with new charge cables. Top right are the transducer cables and the black pipe is from the shower sump to the grey water tank. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_20230422_122100.jpeg) In the same bay we have domestic battery to inverter cable along with the Fuses, isolation and selection switch and charge controller ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_20230422_122019.jpeg) As you can see here the seating, floor and one of the fuel tanks had to be removed to gain access to the alternator to fit the correct guage charge cable. Box for the start battery and one of the two transducers can also be seen along with the grey water pump. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_20230422_121838.jpeg) The maple door to the cabin. It was going to be Brazilian mahogany as that's what I used for edging and trim. It was spare from the house finishings but I didn't have enough to make a door and it is no longer available. Lastly all the trim fitted to the helm seat to finish it off. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/04/22/IMG_20230422_121443.jpeg)

Looking good Gordon! As Ewan said, all the "fiddly" bits towards the end of any build are the most time consuming. Just the same with car builds/specials.
