hi i own a 2017 M3W. I can buy a new in the create S&S X-Wedge engine. my question is are there many versions of this engine? Or if its a X-Wedge it will fit. Just dont want to buy it for a spare and find out it will not fit.

I think displacement is the only difference but the mounting is the same. The way the ecu interacts with it might be different for the different displacements. If you have an unlocked ecu then it could be tuned to adjust to the larger, or smaller displacement engines.
A Harley engine might bolt onto the Centa housing but the engine mounts would be different as well as the ecu.

Currently there are almost no more parts for the X-Wedge engine, I just ordered more than $ 3000 in parts I will receive for only $ 1300 available, it would be nice if S&S could face an official ad on the the future of spare parts here to find out what to expect.

Someone, a machinist, needs to be making an alternative engine mount swap so a Harley could be bolted into the Mog.

Snapped this on a 2017 Engine Box if it's any use, the Morgan Engine is the X121 Variant ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2020/12/20/X-Wedge.jpg)

Again, for a Harley motor to "bolt" in to the motor/trans adapter, it has to be an '06 or earlier. You would probably want a "B" motor which were only available in Softails and as crate motors. They have the smoother counterbalance shafts internally. As also said, the mounting of the motor to the frame would be a complete new mounting system.

unless you put on a big bore kit, the 06 engines would be the twin cam 88's. It was a good engine in my 05 road king, but not nearly as good as my '17 with a M8.
I wonder why the twin cam 96 would not work?

I wonder why the twin cam 96 would not work? The 96" Softail motors are of the later version when they went to the Cruise Drive transmission. The 96" has a 5-bolt primary pattern that will NOT fit the M3W adapter bolt pattern. Also the crank on the 96" is a full external spline with an internal bolt versus nut type crank retainer. I do have an '05 CVO 103" that's a "B" motor with counterbalance shafts. Again, only the Softails had the counterbalance shafts. There were several different versions of the 103" in the CVO's prior to '06, but only CVO Softails had the 103". The '03/'04 CVO Deuce had a 95" counterbalanced motor.
