having ridden in the rain... that area becomes an indoor pool... there are no drain holes

Well I was thinking, if I could drill 4 new holes just on inch back (and along with a 2 inch steering wheel spacer), it might be just the ticket. now to see if the assembly can move an extra inch back....then poof, drain holes.

Remember drain holes work both ways.

Have seen plugs with check valve function that might solve problem. One style has flap that lets water out but seals to keep splashes out. Check automotive restoration catalogues.
Also might be able to cobble something that works using pieces out of industrial maintenance catalogues. There should be a way to get there from here.

With my original chassis I silicone sealed between the aluminium floor & chassis rails & it stayed dry even though I travelled some very wet roads. When I got the replacement chassis MMC did not replace the sealant nor the sealing tape behind the seats. I did not reseal & the floor stays dry, I did re-tape behind the seats to cut down the dust.

Craig have you found the removable panel above the pedals to aid access? WD40 will not prevent rust, ACF50 will inhibit it, I use it on the front suspension.

I was thinking that too or a course acme thread adjuster but it would raise the pedals rendering them un useable

Should be able to do something like that and only raise the pedals 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch
