and today I am completely lost while trying to figure out how the new AutoSparks wiring loom, the wiring diagramm in the owners handbook and the previous wiring should map. BS-AU7 headache galore.  If anybody has a correct wiring plan for the Morgan 4/4 with Ford CVH engine - please let me know.

Hi TBm, Hi Paul,
The plan on the Gomog page and the plan above (also printed in the drivers handbook) are all the same.
But there are a number of differences between the plan and what is actually in the loom (the one installed from the factory)
E.g. The ballast resistor is missing. There is a white and white-black cable to the ignition coil. This in turn has a black and green-black cable running to the distributior.
Alternator, Starter and Ignition also slightly vary from the plan above.
There is a Red-Yellow cable (Bs-Au7: fog lights) in the loom - not shown in the plan.
The park-switch (also discussed in another conversation here on this forum) is also difficult to find. My Morgan my father installed a MK dashboard with different switches. This makes it even harder to find this in the old loom.
The Autosparks loom (which does not have any documentation and is supposed Identical) has a number of smaller differences. Just takes time to figure it out.

Athough on several wiring diagrams, my '72 certainly didn't have a park switch. It may have been a regional variation.
If you have a non ballast coil you won't need the ballast resistor and associated 'bypass' wire for starting.
Might be worth looking at a much later date wiring diagram and doing a comparison?

That was a very good suggestion. Didn't think about it yesterday. The next plan on GoMog is the 1988-1989 plan for all Morgan cars. This looks much closer to the one installed on my car. https://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/wiring88&89.jpgBack to work bench... 😀👍
