When I was a kid there were Lego building blocks. Together with my friends we had built fantasy cars or farmhouses or a radio (it looked like this). I found that much more exciting than building an exact model according to specifications and building instructions.

Agreed Heinz, trying to build a Saturn 5 rocket with very basic bricks taught you to think inventively
