No that surprised me somewhat, they look pretty proficient if you have use of one and the pricing point seems fair not that I have compared others but purely as a stand alone I would consider one if I had the need.

Odd, I thought that the EU rules for electric transport not to need a license/registration was 250 watts and 20 km/h? this is 350 watt and 25km/h?

In the UK at the moment it is illegal to use these in a public place unless they are part of trial period of hire vehicles that at the moment are limited to 4 cities. They are classed as a Mechanically propelled vehicle and as such require insurance and a licence.

We've got them in Milton Keynes. They work a bit like 'Boris Bikes' in that you can ride it to your destination and then leave it on the payment for someone else to pick up. We have several left around school each day (although you are supposed be over 18).

I was aware that they are illegal to use in the UK (at the moment) but AC are saying that they have been approved for use in the Netherlands.

Edit. A quick Google would seem to suggest that, unlike eBikes there are no EU rules for eScooters eg top speed of 20km/h in France 25km/h in Spain.

Why would you want one when you can buy a second hand small motorbike with a proper engine and made by Honda for less money?
