An old friend of my wife was a Sax player with a band and he introduced us to a word. "Discordant"
Is that what Discordant means?
Jazz is such a wide genre. Some some good, some not. IMHO

Jazz guitarist plays 5thousand chords to 3 people Nick That´s funny  I can confirm this...there were always 5000 enthusiastic listeners when I played three chords, haha.  Most of the time one or max. two people listen if any when I try to play 25 chords
