Have just talked to Russel at Miller Commercials and he is going to try and dig out part numbers for me at the weekend but from memory he said they are BMW X5 parts and are a sensor strapped to the rim with a big jubilee clip and not valve based.
BMW apparently gave up on them quite quickly as they were too sensitive and always giving false positives for pressure drops. He said in his experience it was usually the central monitor which was the main culprit and where it was positioned in the S1 with all the heat didn't help its lifespan. He thinks I may be letting myself in for a whole world of pain reinstating it as it will probably drive me nuts but will try to help with the tyre sender units if I decide to go ahead.
I'm going to try and check the pcb on the central monitor this weekend to see if it's still alive before deciding if I will just replace it with and external monitor with new valve style senders. Morgan fitted both styles of sender- both the big jubilee clip version and the valve mounted version

Hi Kevin I spent over 150 on my monitor in 2006 on my first car it gave up six months later, I fitted two new tyre monitors on my present car only for the central monitor to fail within that summer. They were never any good Kevin and up and down the passes of Windermere got very confused and the beep sends you batty......Em

Sounds like this may be the road to madness then Em and some cheap aftermarket one with external caps connected to a mobile phone or simply a tyre pressure check before every trip is a better way to keep my sanity!
When you say spent 150 on your monitor was that getting the pcb fixed or buying an external system?

The box and a wheel monitor and both looked used in a plastic bag. Parts were available then as the car was only 4yrs old......Em

fwiw, my 2019 BMW i8 has tyre sensors... travelling south from Glasgow on the A74 & M6, after 90 minutes at steady speeds I drove into heavy rain. 20 minutes later I had simultaneous pressure warnings on all four tyres.
I guess the rain had cooled the tyres & dropped the pressure a smidge.
But it does suggest that even when the system's working, BMW's tyre pressure warnings need to be taken with a hefty pinch of salt, which kinda defeats their purpose.
iirc @Shooter puts a motorbike anti-puncture gel into his tyres - which seems a lot less hassle than a pressure warning system.

I thought TPS was becoming mandatory on cars in the near future.
The systems in my MB's and the Audi was based on the anti-lock sensors and rotation speed. Must have been very good at maths!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I have the same in my Polo. I'm not sure it works though.

I think its either 2012 or 13 on if you have a tyre monitor fitted it must be working for the MOT or its a fail......Em

It lights up when you set it so I guess that is a pass as it has gone through several MOTs
