Would it be Delrosa ? Our three youngsters used to have it in the summer in their baby bottles, a looong time ago now. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/02/07/ddf1121aebfbeee56dd4908b2b17b63c.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/02/07/pa130220.jpg) Wow, that brings back some memories for me Richard and strangely I can now remember the taste too!

Remember that .... and being given a teaspoon of cod-liver oil each winter day .... and the govt orange juice concentrate in a medicine bottle with a cork in the top .... post-war version of health-foods 🙂

I remember having chest and back rubbed with goose grease and brown paper applied under the liberty bodice and those horrid spoons of black treacle or molasses followed by the reward of a chocolate square.......couldn't have been all bad as we are still around to tell the tale.

Oh how I loved that Virol taste..
I remember wearing a liberty bodice - oxymoron that was.. I was spared the goose fat, but when a heavy cold arrived we were planted in front of an enamel bowl with hot water and Vick melted in it, we had to have our heads covered in a towel such that all you could breath was the mixture and sweat away until you were released... we are still here..

A teaspoon of cod liver oil and malt used to go down a treat when I was a nipper. I also used to sleep with a coal-tar lamp burning at night when I had croup. couldn't have been all bad as we are still around to tell the tale. It was hardly brilliant, though. In 1950 the infant mortality rate was 30/1000, ten times what it is today. Life expectancy was 68 compared to >81 today. https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/GBR/united-kingdom/life-expectancy

We had to pay a lot of money to get that done in Birmingham in the 50’s 🤣 BR Colin (Vick got the bulk of the money as he was none too happy)
