That is some useful feedback Alistair, thanks. It is the warmup that concerns me most of all, usually I will take it easy warming the engine and drivetrain but don't want tyres that are a complete liability. Annoyingly the PS4S are not available for the S1 (18"), so its either the PS4 (which for me however good it is always feels like a tyre that isn't as good as it can be..aka PS4S) or go the whole hog and fit the Cup2s. It is a summer garage queen but it does get used and if it rains when I am out I prefer not to fear for my life.. Alas it then becomes more complicated as the Cup2 doesn't come in 255 fitment, so I would have to drop to a 245 rear. Confused yet? I am!

I’m about to fit Advan RS jobbies. I think they’re a halfway house between road an track.
They worked really well on my last aero.
They do the 225 and the 255’s

I had the same issue with the S2 when they got replaced and ended up using the Pilot Supersports which came in both size and are about the same place in the range as the PS4S is now ? They have been good in wet and dry and just get stickier as you warm them up.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I have PS4S on the 19" AeroMax wheels, and Cross Climates on the 18" Speedster tyres.
Both are amazing tyres...
To be honest for normal road use the Cross Climates are probably a good year round tyre.

I got quite friendly with the Michelin account manager at Goodwood a few years ago and have corresponded a few times with him regarding tyres, he did confirm that the PS4 and PS4S have in effect replaced the SuperSport in their new line up, whereas previously the PS3 was a gulf away from the SuperSport in performance. Sizes all seems to come down to demand, cost and factory locations. You can get 18" PS4S tyres in America, which makes me wonder if they can be shipped over the pond...

I'd too had understood that the PS4S wasn't available as an 18" in the UK ... but Blackcircles list a 215/35 R18 Y (84) tyre for £165 (this search might work for you too https://www.blackcircles.com/tyres/brands/michelin/pilot-sport-4-s#anchorAllSizes ). Which isn't quite what an Aero needs, but suggests Michelin *do* bring 18s into the UK + 18s are importable from the rest of the world - I've had stuff from DesertCart before, and they can be very competitive - but their 245/40ZR18/XL 97Y is listed at £574... https://www.desertcart.co.uk/produc...ormance-radial-tire-245-40-zr-18-xl-97-yI'm sure a rummage online would find a better price. Thanks Will, strangely I am struggling to find suppliers in the states - google redirects everything to UK only! I will check blackcirces, unless it is in error - I ordered a set of PS4S for my BMW from Costco, and they turned out to be the standard PS4! So I put nothing past the realms of an error nowadays!
