Peter, if remember, wasn't your car around £85k when new and had only been on a gentle drive up North before you got it? £65k was a good price for yours.

Maybe it's just me?

At £65k a new Plus 4 would be completely unacceptable for most buyers - think I would be over £80K - will recheck.

I don't see the total price being too much of a problem - most people will look at the monthly payments.

Very interesting review. I found the grin factor with the auto head & shoulders above the manual.
I was intrigued at the hint of traction control
"Still, it bodes well for Morgan’s integration of new tech on the horizon. This Plus Four makes do with ABS and nowt else, but electrification and driver aids are all on their way in future models. The fact this and the Plus Six are so flipping exciting with a new-fangled eight-speed auto proves us driving geeks have nothing to fear. I’m not even offended by the BMW gear selector and PSA paddles. Though my few days using them were jolly enjoyable, I’m glad our Mint Mog possesses a good ol’ stick."

From my point of view, it does not tend to the manual transmission if it is considered in the review only as a "securing inhibition", because the car can not keep up with the more lively power development with automatic transmission in suspension and braking. Better to take the Auto and improve the brakes and suspension...or, best of two worlds, have the manual and a shorter ratio, what seems to remain only a wish.

Three questions to Plus Four owners please, what is the ground clearance like and what is the battery like at retaining it's charge.

Are there any low sump issues like the Roadster suffers from.

I have always had or fitted a battery isolator switch on my cars and never had to put a battery on charge in 17 years so just interested to know.

Unless you have a very expensive intelligent charger (not Ctek) keeping one on a permanent float charge is a very efficient way to destroy a battery hence the interest.

TIA.

My Roadster holds charge for weeks without charging. The battery lasted 13 years.

My Plus 4 loses charge after a couple of weeks. I put the charger on when I feel like it. Not constant, and that works fine.

I think the new cars don't have an exposed sump, but I doubt they will hold charge like the older cars.

My 2008 and 2010 Roadster were without voltage after 10 days. The 2014 4/4 holds its voltage for months.

I think Richard is asking re: the new Plus Four, not the Trad, steel chassis models... smile
