Last night out of the blue, MrsW got a text from the Surgery offering her the Covid vaccination. She is 69 in March and suffers with Asthma.
The App offered a choice of venue and a choice of dates and times. So she booked the nearest venue, which is a couple of miles away, for 11.50am today.
MrsW's surgery is super efficient anyway, not like mine which is more of a dark ages operation. Anyway, I took her down this morning, and she asked if they could do me, since I was waiting in the car park.
No problem, after establishing my D.O.B and Surgery practice. It was very slick. Hand sanitiser compulsory on the way in. Straight to a nurse, with five stations operating. 30 seconds later, I'm waiting for the mandatory 15 minutes, reading the leaflet. Enclosed is a card which gives the date, batch number and brand. We had the Pfizer vaccine.
After 15 minutes we left with another mandatory hand sanitiser on the way out. Hugely impressive operation.

That's absolutely great news for yourself and MrsW,, sounds like a very efficient surgery. I went down with covid 2 day before Xmas and Janice 7 days later, we but we're very poorly and she is still off work until next week, if anybody thinks this is not as bad as people say, I can say think again. We are counting our sleeves lucky and are still recovering from it, still feel fatigued when trying to do things
So take care and stay safe

So take care and stay safe Thanks Mal, I hope you both fell better very soon.........MrsW sends her best wishes to you both! MrsW's surgery is really impressive. When she had her flu jab last autumn, she was contacted by text, given a ten minute timeslot, and was in and out in five minutes. In comparison, I had to ring my surgery to enquire. I was told to go the following Saturday morning at 09.45. When I got there, there was a long queue down the access road of maybe 60 old people, standing in the cold. It took over half an hour to get done. By that time the queue outside was twice as long. In fact the staff were bringing chairs out onto the street because some of the old people were too infirm to stand for that long. Not impressive at all.

Great news Dave. Suffolk is way behind the rest of England alas I know that Yorkshire is a front runner John, because last week they were cutting our supplies by 50% to redirect elsewhere, but quite frankly I did not expect it to be so soon or so sudden. If you know where your local centre is......and we get snow again this week, it might be worth a phone call. A couple we know did that during the last snowfall, assuming old people would not attend, and were told to go in. So they jumped the queue by a couple of weeks I suppose. The Pfizer has to be used or it goes off, so it might be worth a punt.

Great news, well done. I took my mum for hers she’s 88, I had to get her a seat outside the queue was so long and join the queue for her. She waited about 50 minutes in the cold the other Saturday, it snowed later that day. Once inside it was very slick, the volunteers were great and when we left, no queue. Apparently the surgeries using the facility book all the patients at the same times, go figure.

Yes the experience was good for Mazilla as well, carefully managed and several people around to watch and assist etc. Funny how none of this is being reported to any decent extent. Occasional twitter style fact on the number but without any "watch how smooth it is" depth to it. No comment on how the number of centres is growing all the time.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

They never want to report good news or heaven forbid the Government doing well at something. My Mum (82 today!) got hers the other weekend, no queue, in and out in 20mins.
