There seems no pattern on when you will get the vaccine. My sisters 92 year old neighbour in Shrewsbury had both Pfizer jabs before my 93 year old next door neighbour had first last week in Aberdeenshire with no after effect. My niece an NHS clinician is head achy over a week later.

MrsW's surgery is super efficient anyway, not like mine which is more of a dark ages operation. Anyway, I took her down this morning, and she asked if they could do me, since I was waiting in the car park.

No problem, after establishing my D.O.B and Surgery practice. It was very slick. Hand sanitiser compulsory on the way in. Straight to a nurse, with five stations operating. 30 seconds later, I'm waiting for the mandatory 15 minutes, reading the leaflet. Enclosed is a card which gives the date, batch number and brand. We had the Pfizer vaccine.

After 15 minutes we left with another mandatory hand sanitiser on the way out. Hugely impressive operation.

Great news Dave, as your future is assured you can invest in a lovely 3.7... somestick

Hi Everyone,

Interesting reading people’s different experiences.

I fell into the “to be jabbed category” and waited patiently for a letter/call in the knowledge my local GP surgery is notoriously inefficient with communications. Last Thursday a distant friend suggested I look at the NHS appointment website and five minutes later my wife and I were booked in for 8am the following morning at Millenium Point together with second jab appointment.

To say impressed with Millenium would be an understatement. A friendly welcome, hand gel, both of us done together, interviewer with a smile, painless jab, wait 15 minutes and a cheerio again with a smile. And free parking. Brilliant.

But boy oh boy, we both developed an almighty headache and aching limbs for a day.

Well done Boris and the NHS

Yet again the NHS and the many volunteers are doing a fantastic job rolling out the vaccination, but please dont start congratulating Boris Johnson after a year of misinformation , u turns , broken promises and incompetance which has resulted in this island country having the highest death rate per population in the world.

My neighbour who is a doctor at our local practice said they decided to band together with 3 other surgeries to make sure they had enough staff to cope and give doctors and nurses a break from just continually vaccinating. The system employed by the local health trust assumed 100% take up of the vaccine based on the patient numbers registered at each practice In each of the priority categories. It also assumed Four doses of vaccine per bottle when in fact it is possible to get 5 with care. Take up is less than 100% for all kinds of reasons including not updating deaths! They don’t return vaccine so it has been possible to carry on and move down the priority groups more quickly . As a result I had my first jab 3 weeks ago at the ripe old age of 70.
Credit where it is due , thank you NHS and all the volunteers and the person who took a leap of faith and ordered the vaccine in the first place .

A volunteer friend tells us that with the Pfizer roll out, at the end of day they are scratching around for patients when some don't turn up, otherwise the vaccine gets wasted, so as I said earlier, it might be worth offering yourself as an end of day vaccinee, so the jabs are not wasted.
