Hi there,

I am in contact with the factory and will probably send my ecu to them to get the new flash. At the moment, I am just a little bit scared to send such an expensive part via post. I am still waiting for a order, that was given early in Dezember! It seems, that they have to sort up a lot of things until everything is running smoothly again.

The thing is, that they offer two different flashs to me. The "sharper" one you can only get with the manifold and the sports exhaust. As I will not install the manifold, the other one ist the one for me. Does anyone know, what the differences are? Never heart, that there are two differend flashs around. Maybe someone has allready experience with this "weaker" flash?

Good morning from France.
I can only encourage you to fit the AR manifold and exhaust when you reflash. The net result is 180 bhp and the car is transformed. Others might like to encourage you. I had experience with an 89 Plus 4 which had been reworked by Omex . It was like a rocket and the 2019 P4 was every bit as good.

Get the full conversion Tom. The manifold and system isn't cheap, but the difference is huge.

Just a thought on the whole subject of re-flashing relatively new cars.

Do MMC confirm that the re-flash will not affect the warranty or is it just one of those questions that it's better not to ask?

In the moment I wait for my ECU back from Britain. It struggles massive about the Brexit.

My information is directly from the factory at August 2020 for the GDI plus4. The „lighter“ flash cures the bad torque in the mid revs, gives a better acceleration and more mpg. No other changing required. And doesn‘t disturb the warranty!

As I see in a lot of threads about ECU, flashes, manifolds and ClubSport and so on I think there are a lot of members around with the light flash. In cause much poeple doesn‘t know about the different flashes.

In an older thread there was a torquecurve and powercurve only with a flash. It was impressive.

If I struggle I would ask the factory about a dynocurve for both ;-) and the possibilities, also a point for Germans: for TÜV the read the OBD - is a flash visible?

My Plus4 is at Allon White this week for the Manifold and re-map as well as a service, largely on the strength of the very positive comments from the knowledgeable folk on here. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

AlyMatt, I would be very interested in hearing what you think about the new manifold and remap once completed. I have a 2016 GDi that I thoroughly enjoy but which is slightly disappointing in terms of fuel consumption (36 mpg overall average). Service time is approaching in a couple of months and I had seen that Allon Whites are now advertising the Clubsport upgrade ...!

Kingsway, not getting the car back until next weekend but will post my thoughts once I have had a chance to give it a couple of runs. Thoroughly enjoyed my first 7,000 miles but the very positive comments about the re-map and manifold swap on here tempted me to give it a try...
