Mot passed, yippee. The mot tester/business owner is in the process of building up a Plus8 in an adjoining workshop, and was quite pleased to have the opportunity of looking over mine.
I did wash the browny/red stuff off before hand, but then I went for a drive so its back. My dog licked the salt off the dashboard, so that saved me a job!
The bike rack was an impromptu idea when I went to the body shop; it was in a Farm business unit area, so quite remote. I thought I could cycle from there to some sites within 5 miles. Its only 4 years since I was in the saddle, but its just like riding a bike, yeah? Suffice to say, I was a lot rustier than the two wheeler, and found it easier to walk at times, even in the relative flatness of Cheltenham !! But, it has inspired me to get out more on it. Mines a folding affair, but no reason why a standard bike shouldn't sit on the rack as easily. I've even threatened my son with some exercise!

I can't say I'd ever considered it. TBH, it is one of those ridiculously low value imports from China, that I originally purchased for some work along canal towpaths, and folding made it easy to throw in the back of the car. I certainly haven't noticed any problems with the wheels going out of true, so I guess they must be; the rims appear to be more v shaped?

Underneath the Cotswold dust is Pewter according to the colour code, with the odd patch of aluminium for now!
innocent
