I own a GMT Master, bought new in 1999.
Lovely watch and recently serviced by Rolex.
The red on the bezel has faded to a ‘dusky pink’.
I was advised by a few specialists, not to have the bezel replaced.
Apparently, originality is valued.

Yes originality is valued highly, even the original crystals in certain watches (usually pre sapphire crystals) have a different profile to the modern replacements and therefore sought after.
