Hi everyone. Thanks for the comments and advice. I just think the engine has a lot more to give at low revs - I might Dino it first and have a look at the torque curves. My daily drive is an X3 M40i so I may be expecting a little bit too much of the 2 litre. I chipped all my previous diesels with great results, but I’ve seen a few threads which say to leave it as is.
Thanks

Although it has often been suggested that Mazda gearboxes came into use around 2012, my plus 4 (build date March 2011) has a Mazda gearbox, as indicated by the N7 label on it.

Yes it’s definitely a Mazda gearbox on the 75th anniversary. It’s great fun to drive, especially at high revs but with Mrs B in the passenger seat I don’t get away with dropping down a few cogs and enjoying the exhaust note without being told there’s no hurry to get anywhere. Ha ha.

Hello and welcome Glen. We're not far from you, as we're down in Loughton in Epping Forest. I have my X3 serviced at Fairfields so I guess you're a customer there as well. Maybe we could meet up sometime?

Hi Tom. Our Morgan came from the Epping area. I stopped going to Fairfield’s a couple of years ago following a service carried out on our previous BMW. I now use Power Developments who are at Laindon - just off the A127. It would be great to meet up sometime - how do we exchange contact details?

There's a drop down menu where your user name appears in the top RH corner of the screen, and you'll see a private message option in that menu. I'll PM you and you should see it flag up a new message shortly.

You can also just click on the user name shown to the left of any individual post in a thread and it will open up the PM option. My PM just sent.
