The first time earliest memories I have of Kingswear & Dartmouth was going to see the tall ships in Sept 1962 when I five. This Pathe News Reel gives a good over view of them.

A nice clip John, we have seen all those visiting since on the officer exchange with the BRNC they are wonderful craft.
When Britannia came in and they took her upstream to turn her on the flood there were just feet to spare, we used to have a BRNC Captain living next to us here that had some really funny tales.
He was No2 on Broadsword in the Falklands and had nothing but respect for the Argie pilots coming in well below mast height dropping heavy kit and going round again to empty their canons, he has some fantastic photographs. He went away a young man and came back grey, no kidding.. A fine friend and another John.

Simpler times. It hasn't really changed much though thankfully. John, times haven't changed, that's the current view out of Rich's caravan !!!! Broadband gets down there in the next 5 years.

Keep up at the back there, we are still in the tent awaiting an upgrade to a Sprite, Lord Wroxham  It was kind of you to lend it to us 41 years ago, does is need reproofing yet ?

We’re regular visitors to Dartmouth, as tlLB’s son and family live there and it’s just an hour away.
They seem to know everyone in the town, so visits are always fun and often alcoholic.
Only one complaint: walking back to there home up Clarence Hill can be a challenge.

One of our neighbours moved out here from 36 Clarence Street as it was getting too noisy 37 years ago  mind their family go back to when God visited the town.. Clarence is mostly second homers or lets these days as far as we know, all the trappings of the chichi are there to see
