The Sawrey to Bowness ferry on Windermere is one where my tailpipes grounded. Did the crossing about 3 years ago when on a run during Morgans at Windermere. I hope the weekend is on again this year as we have missed it since that last trip due to other things going on. By then we are hoping Covid restrictions should be ok so it provides a great opportunity for an overdue Mog trip. A good stop over for extending up to Scotland too.

It's the Red Lion near the church Bruce and one of my Decca colleagues used to run it back in the day Tony Fortnum, also went on to form a big band in southern Germany when he worked for us in Stadtkyll, quite close to Heinz in the Eifel a lovely area.
We call in for a pint or several after Bell Ringing out there on the odd occasion we visit as a team, we have been known to stop for a bit of Scran sometimes.. Thanks Richard yes by the church those were the days hardly anyone about and the local Bobby used to come in for a pint after last orders. Bruce I have no idea whether you can get the ITV catch up service over there, if you can next weeks maybe of interest to you as it features Dartmouth and a drone video of the college was on the lead out trailer tonight on this program, I find her annoying but the scenery and POI are good, I watch it on mute You will have passed this one a few times ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/02/10/144480584_10220324775775146_2673569121866010468_o.jpg)

What you didn't see, the door she used to enter the hut actually enters to the ham radio station (or used to). I have operated that station, some years ago. A left turn after entry takes one through into the replica Marconi set up. Well worth a visit if ever in the area

We must try and do it sometime, we said that after Portaloo visited a couple of years ago but we really must, a couple of my old Decca colleagues Jack Goldstone and Mike Goodey (both Hams) did that, they both were stationed on St Marys for many years at the South West British Chain Green Slave on would you believe Telegraph Hill the very place itself That site was one of my favourite engineering visits and so welcoming, sadly they both passed away into the ether many years back now, I was on site when we decomissioned and felled the "165' Tee array" not a joyful day, but a very lively evening in The Mermaid that night.

I must say I enjoyed the program on the Lizard. Nice photo of Bayards cove where they filmed the Onedin line Richard.

Yes a nice bit of coastline John, next weeks should be good, yes I caught the shot of Bayards Cove. The Captain and his wife only moved out of the town about five years ago, they came and stayed and fitted in well a nice couple.

Cold & very windy here today. The gale has moved lots of sand & shingle and the snow is right down to the sea. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/02/11/pier.jpg)
