I've also been told I will be getting notification for the second jab within 12 weeks, and to get in touch if I don't hear by 10 weeks. Very well organised. They must be doing it by postcode, I met 3 of my neighbours!

Got a text from GP yesterday lunchtime, and had the Oxford jab at 9:10 today. Very smooth opperation at Pangbourne. "On the road again Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway We're the best of friends Insisting that the world keep turning our way And our way Is on the road again I just can't wait to get on the road again The life I love is makin' music with my friends And I can't wait to get on the road again" 'On the road again' - Willie Nelson

Although we were lucky, around here it's very Doctors Surgery & Council focussed. Although MrsW's surgery is "right on it", and I benefitted from tagging along, those registered in surgeries two miles away over the council boundary have been kept waiting or offered a venue ten miles away. So clearly where we are, Council organisation is affecting efficiency, and where you get offered. MrsW got four venues to chose from, some are being told to travel ten miles.

My parents were done at Pangbourne last weekend - they were full of praise for the organisation of everything there - first step towards freedom and all that after not leaving the house for the last 12 months.... HB

Vaccination rollout is going at quite a pace, mine is booked for Thursday 11.40. So reassuring to see how well organised this is........already Sue (NHS) has been notified of second vaccine appointments coming up shortly.......

Thanks Niel - you and Jane stay safe. Steve I've done about 250 vax's now.
The feedback I've had is that frequency of side effects is varied and in most people mild and short lived. The second Pfizer dose tends to generate the most reactions, the young being more prone to this than the more mature.
Enjoy!

There are two vaccination centres in Salisbury, the one in the Cathedral is organised and run by the South Salisbury group of GP practices, with free parking in the Cathedral precinct for those visiting. The second is in the City Hall, some 500 yards away and is run by the NHS. It deals with a much wider radius with patients from North Salisbury. They are presently vaccinating 400 people a day, but will ramp up to 900 a day by the end of Feb.
I was chatting to one of the security guards, asked him why he and the other 3 were needed. His answer was that in Salisbury they are probably not needed, but in some parts of the country there have been attempts to steal the AZ vaccine to export it to other parts of the world, organised crime are behind the thefts. There are also issues with Anti Vaxxer protesters trying to block entry to the centers.
