Rev hang sadly as they stopped the ECU upgrade & no longer provide it. But some cars have horrible rev hang & others don't.

Welcome to TM Jan, from another 3.7 owner
Some seem to suffer more than others, I don't think the factory offer the ECU upgrade anymore, some say the Dual Mass flywheel contributes to rev-hang & some 3.7's can have that or the solid Aero Racing version
I'm sure you are an accomplished driver, but with damp roads I would be cautious & change up the gears early, as the upper rev range contributes to rev-hang too

I think it is a bit odd that MMC have stopped the upgrade completely. Do dealers have the option to continue offering it? I suppose as the car is no longer an option they would slim down trad options but surely letting dealers pick it up would be a good idea?

Thanks for your welcome and answers. That´s a pitty. Reduces the pre fun. I´m looking forward to a sportscar. Even at high revs. I hope it won´t be worst.
Best regards,
Jan

My understanding is that it was not a re-flash, but a completely different ECU branded as Aero Racing and they only had a few The std ECU can't be 'cracked' partly because when the car is first switched on MMC don't input the chassis nr into the ECU data and it can't then be read or flashed, apart from basic fault codes There are a couple of reputable Mog specialists who have been trying to sort this...and after some years still we wait, so it can't be easy to crack

Later ones seem better to me. But with or without the ECU upgrade the gearbox likes to be used slowly.

Given the number of these engines made and sold in the USA surely there are specialists there that may have already developed programmable ECUs for the 3.7L Cyclone engine! I found this one in the UK... https://www.oc-motorsport.co.uk/pro...-cyclone-e6-2016-evo-chips-stage-1-remapYes, it is a Transit engine... it seems. If so the very, very low 1st gear makes sense....

Peter, not so simple as I understand it. MMC piggy backs their ECU onto the Ford one & then lock them. Without the MMC code you can do nothing.

I dug out the bill for my ECU upgrade. The car was 11 months old in 2015 when this was done ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2021/02/17/20210217_173110.jpg)

Peter, not so simple as I understand it. MMC piggy backs their ECU onto the Ford one & then lock them. Without the MMC code you can do nothing. So what does the MMC ECU actually do? Probably only drives the dash display. Would it be possible to replace the Ford and MMC ECUs with a new unit?
