Sadly Jon, it's all too common nowadays and normally comes from those that have achieved nothing worthwhile in their lives and their only recourse is to belittle others efforts.
They are not the givers but takers in life and we all know a few, the rest of us do what we can when we can to help our fellow beings it's not what you do it's the spirit it's done in that counts, it can easily turn into a pissing contest, charity should be a discrete personal thing imho..
