Thought I would share this with the forum.

I was always a little disappointed with the very bland black 3 even-spoke steering wheel in the M3W. I've seen some M3W's with what appeared to be sportier Caterham-style wheels which were already a bit better, but they all let the interior down. I also found it to be a bit far away and so close to the body work and my thighs that my hands would sometimes get stuck between the wheel and bodywork or my legs. I would also struggle to get the key in the ignition (RHD) having to snake my hand through the wheel to get the key in and out.

A bit of searching led me to order a wood-rimmed 3 spoke Moto Lita wheel (with the circular holes), and a 1" BG spacer.

Here are my thoughs:

1- The wheel is gorgeous (though the polish wasn't great but 2 minutes with my buffer sorted that) and the chrome really suits the car.
2. The wood rim is a lot thinner than the OEM wheel (or any other wheel I've ever had) which takes some getting used to but within an hour's drive (with gloves) it felt perfectly natural.
3- For some reason it felt like I had no steering feel at all with the new wheel at first, but this too felt more natural after a few miles.
4- The walnut brown wood goes especially well with my honey tan interior.
5- Thanks to the spacer and the slimmer rim, I can now easily reach the ignition with the key. Handy.
6- Because of the more 9 and 3 position of the spokes, as opposed to the 10 and 2 of the OEM wheel, I can actually see the RPM gauge! The tinner rim helps too. This was a huge unexpected benefit. The spacer may have also slightly improved the line of sight to the dial.
7- Slightly more vibration through the wheel being wood but nothing some gloves don't sort.
8- Slightly more comfortable position with the wheel closer to me with a bit more flex (and therefore range) in my arms. I thought the fact that it stuck out by an extra inch would make it harder to slide in, but the fact that it's maybe 1cm higher seems to more than outweigh this.

A worthwhile upgrade I think, especially as it's something beautiful you have in front of you and in your hands the whole time. Naturally Moto Lita has several designs and also provides leather rims.

P.S. the little Morgan logo is a little plastic badge I stuck on, hoping to replace it with Landy's laser etched centre cover soon but pretty happy for a couple quid.

Nice! I couldn't get myself to spend the money on the centre cap.

Your car highlights something I found strange with mine. My leather panels on the dash and the straps on the rear clamshell are black, and not honey tan like the interior. I was expecting them to all match like yours. Think I'd like to change them eventually as it seems a little off.

Also very curious about your “glove box” addition!

Mine are black as well and I too have the honey interior. I also have black boot straps and not honey. Annoying.

The dash and boot straps come in black or tan so yours must have been built with black. It should be easy to change them over.

The "glove box" is a Willie & Max Take Along Windshield Bag for a Harley. As far as I could find it's only available in the USA and I got mine from

I think black may be the default unless you tick the free of charge tan option when specing the new build.

Very nice look GregA10 and Chris99,

I like both my wood wheel and the black Brooklands. Might pick up a wide rimmed black leather wheel for comfort as well. I’ve gone a little hog wild on steering wheels. But that’s part of the fun, to make the M3W our own, so for this I indulge myself.

Where can I get a spacer for my Brooklands wheel set up please?

I’m having a leather cover made for the wheel and going to stitch it on myself I hope !

I was never presented such an option 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe one day...
