Just put down my deposit on a new PlusSix, so I thought I should drop a line in this forum. Been on TM since I bought my 2014 M3W, and it has been absolutely invaluable and a terrific community.
Looks like still about a 1-1.5 years to certification here in the USA under the 2015 law and then another 6-months wait. I'm #21 on the waitlist at my dealer; I'll take that as a good omen on this gamble.
Best,
Gabriel

Hi Gabriel I hope the time flies for you in respect of the wait!!! By the time it arrives hopefully Covid will be less of a problem and you’ll be allowed to go out for trips... 🤓🤞 HB

Hi Gabriel, congrats to your decision! I wish you all the best and much enjoyment with your new purchase. Just a question, does this 2015 law means the engine will be transported separately and the „wedding“ will take place in the US?

Thanks to all! I simply cannot wait for the process to get started. I feel the same excitement I did when I first placed my order for the M3W. Instantly addicted to Morgans - kinks (and there have been plenty) and all.
Heinz, as I understand it, that will not need to be the case. The EPA is requiring re-certification of the engine, which account for the 1-1.5 year delay (and $1MM more in costs to Morgan), but once that is sorted, it should come in one piece.

The EPA is requiring re-certification of the engine, Why? Bureaucracy gone mad?

If only people asked sensible questions like you, SFO.
As far as I can tell, yes. Congress gave a new mandate to the agency with the new law; new mandate, new regulations, including re-certification.
