It's a RAM 1” tough-ball, M6-1 fitting. RAM-RAP-B-379U-M616 which for the standard dash fits into one of the M6 dash panel mounting holes. You'll need to check if there's a suitable bolthole you can use for the Heritage dash.
It works well with the heritage dash, same size bolts. If you look in my photos you can see my sunglasses hanging from the RAM ball. I did have to use Loctite to stop it coming loose.

I have in fact been wanting that solution, but had not found the exact parts to do it. I’ll consider that a kick to the backside  I’ll forego the clock for now. Love the look of it but already have one on the digital display so seems a bit superfluous.

Bear in mind that the above advice is for a mount to fit Garmins. The Alternative Parts List has a source for the smaller threaded ball to fit TomToms. I cut the head off a 6" bolt which we substituted for the LH lower dashboard fixing screw. We secured it with a 15mm long nut and screwed the ball onto the other end. Simple.

Here’s the Ram type ball I used on Amazon. It comes with M6 longer bolts, but is not Ram branded.

I remember there is a M6 version. But it's just 6mm long. The screws of our dashboards are 20 mm (standard) or 35 mm (heritage). That's why I did not used the M6x6mm RAM ball. As this ball will be holding a large smartphone and under heavy vibrations, a long thread with locktite is IMHO needed. With 6 mm thread insert, I bet this ball will get loose permanently.

On mine the RAM ball had a through hole and came with 3 different length M6 bolts - the longest of which was good for the standard dash. The RAM parts list is a bit of a minefield!

I love the look of a wooden steering wheels but i also like the feel of the softer standard wheel. So my first attempt was to dress it up with the center hub. So far I like the look.
