21°C in February! I had to start the engine and get out for a spin.

Schloss Hof and Schloss Niederweiden gave a nice background for pictures of my first trip of the year:

Glorious day. 50 miles around the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire countryside.

Yes managed to get out on Friday and Saturday for short tours of the Surrey Hills. Saturday was especially glorious, roll on freedom to travel. We followed a 50's AC roadster, Aceca (?) or similar. It looked fabulous in midnight blue.

Out for my first outing in the S2 Roadster, quite an enjoyable revelation when compared with my 4/4, the gearbox light, nice and easy to use, 1st a little too low but the rest fine, the torquey engine was pulling 5th from just over 1000rpm and the acceleration can/will become addictive.

Slightly more heat sink into the cockpit compared to the 4/4 The growl from the engine has a beautiful balance, a get up and let you know we are coming snarl, but when cruising nice and quite quiet background rumble letting you know there's a bit of a beast waiting to be let loose. I found the SSL front suspension is only a little more compliant than my 4/4 but not by much and I experienced a little axle tramp in one traffic light derby. Taking it easy at the moment as it needs a running in period due to lack of use since new.

My initial impression is a very fast car with a mile gobbling torquey engine that probably really enjoys cruising more than being overly hurried along. That suits me just fine.

Regards
John

John,
make sure the tyres are 6 years or less old. They may look good but they harden & with all that torque the back end easily breaks away especially in the damp.

If it is the like the S1 or the 3.7l Roadster it is docile below 3k then wow!
Glad you like it

The tyres are on my next to do list, just having Matt at Life's look at the sump clearance....it has very low air conditioning fans mounted underneath so looking at options over ride height etc as well as lowering the seats, the dash is certainly much deeper and cuts the height clearance for my legs and with a lower steering wheel making it a bit harder to get in and out with any form of composure and dignity..........

I like it so far.........I've had a few V8's in different cars over the years but the that V6 growl takes some beating.
regards

John

With a German „season registration“ from March to November today was the first day out. And: when she was sleeping she‘s got a flash.
Now it was the perfect day for to wake her up for a 50miles testdrive.

I couldn‘t believe how much I miss the time out with her. Tomorrow is the next day, and sure: the next day out!

Does the Wolf pedal require dismantling the original roller pedal?
Is it an easy DIY job?

I did a full 180 skid as I hadn't had time to change tyres when I got my S1. I was tired & diesel on the damp road powering out of a roundabout got me on the A5 near Oswestry.
Tyres went on that week. Glad you like it. I took Belle to the sea front today despite the overcast. The side screens were off from the warm weekend so it was coolish.

Librands, Mulfab et all do a raised sump for the S1, maybe also for the S2. You can I thik get dry sumps but you need deep pockets.
